A resident of Los Angeles, Oram Miller is a certified Electromagnetic Radiation Specialist (EMRS) and certified Building Biology Environmental Consultant (BBEC). Since 2010, Oram has assisted his clients in Southern California and across the country with electromagnetic sensitivities and those who want to improve their home’s EMF environment as the owner and consultant of Create Healthy Homes. Prior to moving to Los Angeles in 2010, Oram provided the full scope of Building Biology services, including assessment and mitigation of EMFs, chemical outgassing and indoor air quality, for clients in and around Minneapolis and throughout the upper Midwest through his company Environmental Design and Inspection Services.

Oram changed the name of his company to Create Healthy Homes when he moved to Los Angeles in 2010 and he decided to focus his practice exclusively on evaluating and mitigating electromagnetic fields, or EMFs. He refers clients for services by local colleagues in Los Angeles for non-EMF issues, including indoor air quality, mold and chemical outgassing.

From 2014 through 2024, Mr. Miller joined the Building Biology Institute as an adjunct professor and lab leader supervisor for its Electromagnetic Radiation Seminars. In that role, he participated in curriculum development and committee work. He also founded the Institute’s Apprenticeship Program to pair students with experienced building biologists in their vicinity. He also produced and hosted seminars for the Green Home Institute.

Mr. Miller’s career accomplishments include work with the Minnesota Headwaters Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. He co-wrote a healthy electrical wiring manual covering how to avoid EMFs for green builders of residential and commercial buildings while serving on the Technical Committee of the Minnesota GreenStar certification program. He also co-produced the Northland Bioneers Conference in Minneapolis in 2009.

In addition to committee service, Mr. Miller co-wrote the manual Breathing Walls and has contributed to books on EMF related subjects, such as The Non-Tinfoil Guide to EMFs and the EMF Practical Guide. In 2014, he received a letter of commendation from the International Institute for Building-Biology and Ecology (the forerunner of the Building Biology Institute).
